Mumbai Town

Today, I went around to the traffic-heavy parts of Mumbai, which let me tell you, is almost the entire city itself. Mumbai forever is bustling with people and vehicles. And with the research on my mind, I saw Mumbai with a very different perspective now. I was paying much more attention to the hand-painted signs and typography that I was being bombarded with on my way.

In a world where there is a constant debate about the flex technology overshadowing the hand painting industry, the hand painting artists will always find newer avenues to exhibit their talent.

Something that you just cannot miss when you are cruising through the roads of Mumbai is its fleet of beautifully decorated taxis. Each taxi has unique and extremely ornate vinyl stickers suggesting either the names of different regions of Mumbai the taxi covers or religious/spiritual state of mind of its driver.

It’s a common practice among the Mumbai taxi drivers to decorate the rear window of their taxis using colorful flex.
